design surveillance

We hit up the DSVC meeting Wednesday night where guest speaker Art Chantry was... well, speaking. I am a little embarrassed to say though that before last night I hadn't heard of Art Chantry. I didn't dare let anyone know that of course, "Art Chantry? Oh, yeah, me and Art go way back!.....(uncomfortable silence)" Aside from feeling like a complete idiot, Art Chantry is know in my book of kick ass graphic designers (he is the only one by the way, as the book is just getting started, also this book doesn't really exist). Not only did he pave the way for the grunge scene, which is primarily what I listened to in junior high, but he paved the way for a whole new way of thinking and designing. I went in to the meeting not knowing who Art Chantry was, but I came out with a head full of knowledge and feeling... well, Chantrified. It was f-ing awesome, as Art might say.
